Broad Service has been the main responsible for the integration of the technological upgrade of four radio studios on the Vicálvaro and Fuenlabrada campuses of the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC), in collaboration with Inercia Tecnología Audiovisual. The aim of this ambitious project was to renovate and modernise the facilities, providing URJC students with a professional environment that is fully adapted to the most advanced technologies for their training in the field of radio broadcasting.

Within the framework of this project, the AEQ Capitol IP12 mixer has been selected, together with the AudioPlus multichannel broadcasting and recording software, to offer a complete and flexible solution. The Capitol IP12 stands out for its ability to route audio signals, allowing each student and teacher to configure their own operating presets, which facilitates simple and efficient use, adapted to the needs of each user. In addition, the mixer allows the handling of Dante signals, which has enabled the creation of four dedicated audio playback channels for the insertion of commercials and other content during the training programmes.
One of the biggest challenges of this project was to develop an easy-to-use installation for both students and teachers, allowing the interconnection of the four studios to share content smoothly and efficiently. Thanks to our experience in system integration, we were able to design a solution that facilitates the creation and sharing of audio via a QNAP mass storage server, which optimises access and management of content in the studios.

In addition, to ensure the perfect synchronisation of all studios and controls, a clocking system connected to an NTP server has been installed, ensuring that all four studios have the exact time synchronised at all times, improving the coordination and quality of broadcasts.
This project reflects Broad Service’s commitment to the improvement and advancement of educational facilities, offering state-of-the-art technological solutions that enable universities and training centres to provide practical, quality audio-visual education. The renovation of the URJC radio studios not only provides students with a suitable environment for their professional training, but also establishes an infrastructure that favours creativity and learning in the best conditions.
At Broad Service, we continue to offer complete integration solutions for educational projects, guaranteeing the implementation of state-of-the-art technologies that support the academic and professional development of the audiovisual sector.
