Broad Service has been awarded a new technology project with Radio Nacional de España (RNE), focused on the modernisation of its signal distribution infrastructure at La Casa de la Radio, in Prado del Rey (Madrid).
The project involves the integration of a Ross Video ULTRIX FR2 matrix, a platform that combines video switching, audio and processing in a single highly modular chassis, ideal for evolving environments such as RNE.
The solution supplied is configured to offer maximum versatility in hybrid signal management thanks to modules that allow switching and processing of both traditional SDI signals and NDI over IP streams, facilitating the coexistence between current and future technologies. The system is also expandable through HDX and MODX interfaces, which guarantee the adaptability of the system as technical requirements evolve.
At a functional level, the matrix integrates multiviewers thanks to the activation of UltriScape licenses, as well as internal synchronisation with UltriSync, eliminating the need for additional external equipment. In addition, it incorporates audio-over-IP mixing via UltriMix-Dante, enabling seamless integration with Dante-based environments, and direct broadcast capabilities with UltriStream, opening up new possibilities for sending signals to remote destinations or online platforms.
The control of the entire system is centralised through DashBoard, Ross’ platform for the creation of virtual dashboards, which will allow RNE’s technical team to configure customised interfaces adapted to their workflows.
This project represents a step forward in RTVE’s technology renewal strategy and represents the first installation of a ULTRIX matrix in the public broadcaster, providing efficiency, flexibility and readiness for IP flows within a mission-critical environment.
